Use this checkout
Create a learning app from the exact package sources in this repository.
Use this setup when the API you are reading is not in your installed release. It produces the same minimal Next.js app as the quickstart. Run the first two steps from the BitaKit repository root.
1. Install and pack
npm ci
npm run pack -- .tmp/docs-packages core discovery ui app-preferences next cliThe script builds local packages and puts their npm archives in .tmp/docs-packages.
App Preferences is included for the later Settings lesson; it is not installed in the initial app.
2. Create the learning app
node packages/create-app/src/cli.mjs ../my-app \
--framework next --features none --yes \
--packages-dir "$PWD/.tmp/docs-packages"The destination must not already exist. The official Next.js scaffold and external dependencies require an internet connection; BitaKit itself comes from your local archives.
3. Run it
cd ../my-app
npm run devOpen the printed address, then continue with the one-file Counter page.
Later: install the Settings UI
When you reach the Settings lesson, install the archive you packed. The command below runs from BitaKit's repository root and installs into the sibling learning app:
npm --prefix ../my-app install "$PWD/.tmp/docs-packages/bitakit-app-preferences-0.2.2.tgz"The generator's local package overrides keep dependencies on the same packed set. Then follow mount the Settings route.
Repack when testing newer source changes. The packing script replaces BitaKit archives in its destination; use a dedicated directory. Full generator verification is covered in contributing.
